Musk is a class of aromatic substances commonly used as base notes in perfumery. In the past it included ‘glandular secretions’ from animals such as the musk deer, the African civet, the musk shrew, Muskrat, a rodent native to North America, and several other animals but obtaining the musk required killing the endangered animal.

The use of natural musk was prohibited in 1979, when the various ‘musk animals’ were protected as an endangered species.

Today, all musk fragrance used in perfumery is either synthetic or plant-based, such as Garden Angelica, Musk Flower or Ambrette seeds and are called "white musk", they are now widely used as a substitute for Animal Musk, offering a more ethical approach and being less expensive than the Natural Musk.

This perfume oil has an Earthy, Animalistic, Sensual qualities which are not at all overpowering making it an absolute classic that has a Rich, Leathery and Spicy with hints of Oak Moss and Patchouli making this perfume is suitable for both men and women.
