The Turtle is symbol of good luck! According to the Ancient Mayan culture, the symbol of the Turtle stands for the wise grandchildren of Grandmother – Galaxy (Hunab Ku). This is because the grandchildren are bestowed with the Knowledge Of The Time and All Beings from Galaxy. They are taught that the Beginning of Time started with “Three Stones of Creation” given to Humans by the deity Wak Chan-Ahaw, or “Risen Master of the Sky”, who was killed in the underworld, but was resurrected by his twin sons. This resurrection is always represented by him emerging out of a Turtle shell. Turtles are associated with Long Life, Protection, and Fertility. The turtle can live on land and in water hence it serves as Mediators between these elements.
